The New York Mets have reached out to the agent for free agent catcher Wilson Ramos, with only exploratory talks happening between the two sides. The Mets have Travis D'Arnaud and Kevin Plawecki in their plans behind the plate for 2017 but behind the scenes GM Sandy Alderson reportedly is looking to address the position. Ramos is currently recovering from a torn ACL in his knee but he could be ready by mid-April.
Analysis: The Mets might be able to snatch Ramos on a one-year deal considering his recovery so it makes sense they look here. The other options are a more expensive Matt Wieters and a veteran in Russell Martin who is not yet available in trade.
