FANTASY BASEBALL BREAKING WINTER MEETINGS NEWS: JAYS REEL IN STEVE PEARCE ON TWO-YEAR DEAL

The Toronto Blue Jays officially signed free agent outfielder/first base journeyman Steve Pearce early Monday to a two-year deal worth $12.5 million.  Coming off forearm surgery, Pearce is expected to be part of a platoon where he plays against lefties.

Analysis:  The Jays still are showing little aggressiveness in terms of bringing back either Edwin Encarnacion or Jose Bautista and instead are in the discount aisle of first baseman/outfielders.  Pearce can help as he always hits lefties and has power but he has almost zero fantasy baseball value outside of just AL-only formats.
