Back with the Detroit Tigers after a winter trade from the Atlanta Braves, the encore for outfielder Cameron Maybin in the Motor City was a bit rough in 2016. With injuries allowing Maybin to only take part in 94 games, the counting numbers were not very impressive. In actuality though, Maybin performed well both with the bat and with his legs for the season year in a row as he batted .315 and collected 15 stolen bases. The major reason that Maybin had made a tour around the majors (Detroit, Miami, San Diego, Atlanta) was because of some horrid plate discipline and strikeout rates that derailed his early prospect hype. The light bulb seemed to go on for Maybin with the Braves in 2015 however as he posted a 10/23 split with his power/speed game and that solid play last season seemed to legitimize his semi-breakthrough. Turning just 30 in April, Maybin looks like a solid power/speed guy you can pick up late in your draft for your outfielder 3 slot, even after getting moved yet again to the Los Angeles Angels just a day after the completion of the World Series.
