It was a longshot from the beginning in terms of Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer being able to play in Week 5 after suffering a concussion last Sunday in the team's loss to the Los Angeles Rams. With the Cards playing Thursday versus the San Francsisco 49ers, it was foolish to think otherwise which made it a non-surprise Palmer was ruled out of the game. While Palmer was not playing well even before suffering the concussion with just 6 touchdowns and 5 interceptions, the fallout for the Arizona wideouts is a big due to the obvious shortcomings of backup Drew Stanton. The biggest problem with Stanton is the fact he has a bit of a noodle arm that eliminates plays down the field. This automatically means Michael Floyd needs to be benched in all formats, with John Brown falling into this realm as well. Larry Fitzgerald and his slot game seems to be the obvious best bet in terms of being able to maintain some fantasy football numbers with Stanton behind center and he is the only one we would endorse using even on a full bye week Sunday. As far as Palmer is concerned, hold onto him as he should be able to right the ship eventually. His age though doesn't make this a guarantee.
