The worst fears of those owning Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy last Sunday were almost realized when, after rushing for two scores in his monster start to 2016, he went down in a heap with a knee injury that looked bad right away. With McCoy needing help off the field, visions or a torn ACL or meniscus were circling in his owners' heads. Well a major exhale was released by these same owners as McCoy returned for the second half and he even added a third score to show he was in good shape. Fast forward to today and now we get word that McCoy suffered a hamstring injury in practice which immediately threatens his Week 7 status given the late development. McCoy has been through this before going back to his Philadelphia Eagles days and Rex Ryan said after practice he will be evaluated on a day-by-day basis. That is coashspeak for McCoy is 50/50 to be out there so all of his owners should pick up Mike Gillislee as insurance. With Ryan clearly being a fan of running the ball, Gillislee can work as an immediate replacement but one who carries much less flash then McCoy. It is never easy.
