FANTASY FOOTBALL CRISIS POINT: DeANDRE HOPKINS WR HOUSTON TEXANS

Houston we do have a problem.  Just ask anyone holding stock in Houston Texans star wideout DeAndre Hopkins.  With new franchise QB (at least via the size of the contract) Brock Osweiler playing as bad as can be at the position, the fallout has been severe for Hopkins and his numbers through the first five weeks of the season.  Keep in mind that Hopkins came into the year coming off a blockbuster 2015 breakout where he caught 111 passes for 1,521 yards and 11 touchdowns despite the Texans using four QB's that collectively played as bad as any passers in the game last season.  The same situation is unfolding again this season as Osweiler has been a disaster so far despite having Hopkins , a star-in-the-making receiver in Will Fuller, and a prime running back in Lamar Miller to take heat off of him  Osweiler has thrown 6 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on the season so far and needless to say, his poor play is hurting Hopkins badly.  Consider that going into Week 6, Hopkins has just 22 catches for 283 yards and 3 touchdowns.  The numbers are way down across the board and if not for the 3 scores, Hopkins would be looking even worse.  Also Fuller has been more potent overall then Hopkins as Osweiler seems to prefer looking his way first when going back to past which adds to the issue.

So where do we go from here?  Do you sell low on Hopkins?  Well the obvious answer is no.  Everyone else in your league sees how bad the numbers are for Hopkins right now and so you won't get anywhere near equal value back.  Instead this is a classic "ride it out" deal where you put Hopkins in there every week and hope he and Osweiler get back on the same page.  Hopkins is way too talented to continue posting underwhelming numbers so keep the faith with the guy.
