FANTASY BASEBALL HOT STOVE NEWS: TIGERS AND GIANTS EXPECTED TO MAKE BIG PUSH FOR CESPEDES

While it was widely assumed all along that Yoenis Cespedes would opt out of his contract for this winter's free agency, the New York Mets will now get a lot more competition for his services as both the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants appear to be the biggest competition for the Cuban slugger.  Last winter Cespedes got very little play in free agency which enabled the Mets to scoop him back up late but he is right there at the top of the outfield marker this time around with only an aging Jose Bautista.

Analysis:  It will be interesting to see how the Mets play this but the always conservative franchise may not be able to get Cespedes back on their terms.  The money could get stupid here in the four-year for $120 million range so either way Cespedes will get his dough.
