FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 1 ISSUES: MIGHT BE TIME TO WORRY ABOUT GRONK, MARTELLUS BENNETT OWNERS SMILE

For the last two weeks we have continually gotten updates regarding the fact New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was still not 100 percent and battling an ongoing hamstring problem since the team's third preseason game.  Now with Week 1 just days away for the Pats, word coming out of New England is that Gronkowski is "no sure thing" to play according to the NFL Network's Ian Rappaport.  While Rappaport has had his misses over the years, he generally is pretty tuned into things around the league and so we have to take this report seriously if you are a Gronkowski owner.  We all know that Gronkowski is no stranger to injury and so honestly what is there to be shocked about?  This is the same story with Gronk throughout his career:  top tier first round talent but also a big risk given the fact he always misses games with injury.  This is what you sign up for if you draft Gronk and now we focus on the all-important Friday practice to see if he gets any work in.  Meanwhile those who own stock in Martellus Bennett have to be cheering the Gronk news because then their guy will become a major TE 1 for Week 1 as a safety outlet for QB Jimmy Garappolo.  With a healthy Gronk, Bennett was not worth starting unless Tom Brady was back but now he suddenely becomes a must-start if his counterpart is out.  This is the biggest storyline for Week 1 in terms of the injury report but all Gronk owners need to have a backup handy in case he can't go.
