FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 1 ISSUES: MATT FORTE/BILAL POWELL HEADED FOR STRICT TIMESHARE?

ESPN's Rich Cimini has echoed what we have been saying on here since July regarding the Matt Forte-Bilal Powell setup in the New York Jets' backfield for the 2016 fantasy football season.  The Jets inked Forte in free agency but they also re-signed Powell who did some big things for them down the stretch of last season.  Cimini reports that there could be a strict timeshare between the two, with Powell getting the third down work almost exclusively.  We also have surmised that the Jets realize that Forte is aging as he turned 30 and that he can't handle a workhorse role anymore.  Three missed games to injury in 2015 and a training camp where he dealt with a bum hamstring only reinforced this thinking.  As a result, Forte's value is likely to get a big hit and again what we have said, his name brand is now beginning to outpace his actual production.  If Powell is in on most third downs, Forte's reception totals will take a hit and his rushing numbers as well.  In the end, Forte could struggle to hold RB 2 value.
