FANTASY FOOTBALL THURSDAY WRAPUP: PATRIOTS/TEXANS

The New England Patriots moved to 3-0 on the season while starting Jimmy Garappolo and Jacoby Brissett.  Allow that to sink in for a bit but then check out the fantasy football items that came out of the game.

Brock Osweiler:  24/41 for 196 yards with 1 INT.  My goodness if I were a Houston Texans fan I would be very afraid.  Osweiler was comically bad last night as he threw behind receivers, had no pocket presence, and threw his fourth interceptions in three games.  When you have Lamar Miller, Will Fuller, and DeAndre Hopkins as your main weapons, there is no excuse for what we saw last night.  In fact it was painful to watch and a once promising summer outlook considering the weapons has now dropped to full no-use status in fantasy football.

Jacoby Brissett:  11/19 for 103 yards to go with 48 rushing yards and a TD on 8 carries.  I mean they won the game right?  Other then the run, Brissett was pretty brutal as his accuracy was not good and he missed badly at times.  However the kid is a rookie debuting on national television so on that front he was successful since the Pats are now 3-0.

LeGarrette Blount:  24 carries for 105 yards and 2 TD.  In this week of epic running back injury turmoil and committee setups, most of us felt a pang of jealously for all Blount owners seeing how much work he got and the two scores he picked up.  Listen Blount is not the flashiest back in the world and he can't catch a beach ball but the guy is a good power runner who is a RB 2 in even PPR right now given all the injuries.

Lamar Miller:  21 carries for 80 yards to go with 4 catches for 27 yards.  I have to tell you that even though the workload is there, Miller has not been very impressive running the football in all three games.  The average is ugly and where are the scores?  Even the receptions are below anticipated.  Also Miller was seen getting treatment on the sidelines during the second half which is a reminder that the workload could eventually become a problem.  So far overall though Miller is no living up to his mid-first round grade.

Will Fuller:  3 catches for 31 yards.  Fuller had two drops which was a reminder of the big knock on him coming out of college.  Nothing went right for the Houston offense last night so we can't kill any one individual player other then Osweiler.  Continue starting Fuller.

DeAndre Hopkins:  4 catches for 56 yards.  Hopkins made some nice sidelin catches but not much happening here.  Tough to own a guy like this and then see the type of QB play you got out of Osweiler yesterday.  Hopkins is such a supreme talent though so he will get his numbers.

Ryan Griffin:  8 catches for 52 yards.  Not a shock Griffin was a main target as Osweiler technically is still a starting rookie since he doesn't have 16 starts under his belt yet.  Something to watch.

Julian Edelman:  4 catches for 38 yards.  Tough night for Edelman and his fantasy football owners given the lack of passing.  With Garappolo coming back for Week 4, Edelman should be back to his usual high-reception self.

Rob Gronkowski:  0 receptions.  Told you not to start him.
