FANTASY FOOTBALL GETTING TO KNOW: CAMERON ARTIS-PAYNE RB CAROLINA PANTHERS

The big news concering the Carolina Panthers running back situation entering into Week 3 was that starting veteran Jonathan Stewart could be down 2-4 weeks with a hamstring injury and in a mild surprise, Cameron Artis-Payne and not Fozzie Whittaker would get the start in his place.  It was assumed Whittaker would be the guy after he ran for 100 yards replacing Stewart last week but head coach Ron Rivera endorsed Artis-Payne on Wednesday and said the only reason he didn't suit up in Week 2 was because of his lack of special teams ability.  The former 2015 fifth round draft pick out o Auburn averaged 4.1 yards per carry in 7 games as a rookie last season and his bulk and decent speed make him a solid option for those RB-needy owners for Week 3 in fantasy football.  Those who picked up Whittaker looks like they will be disappointed given this bit of news and at the very least Artis-Payne should make the RB 2 grade.
