FANTASY FOOTBALL GETTING TO KNOW: ROB KELLY RB WASHINGTON REDSKINS

It has not been an easy summer trying to handicap the running back position for 2016 fantasy football.  Injuries, demotions, timeshares, and the like have made this position one big question mark and the latest chaos finds itself in Washington where an injured Matt Jones has allowed a rookie undrafted upstart named Rob Kelly steal the running back limelight this summer.  Heading into training camp, it was Jones who was considered the starter at running back for the Redskins, with his big speed and playmaking ability making him a decent sleeper pick.  Unfortunately Jones has been banged up and that allowed Kelly to steal carries and open eyes as he averaged 5.21 yards per carry this summer which came out to 198 yards on a workhorse 38 carries.  The 23-year-old from Tulane was not drafted due to his plodding speed but the north-south style and Kelly's instincts to quickly find the hole and get upfield has made him a curiosity worth pursuing.  Now the plan is that Jones is still going to start Week 1 for the Redskins but there is growing chatter that Kelly will get a decent amount of work that could be as high as a 60-40 split based on his impressive summer.  Not even available on waiver wires in many leagues due to his new kid on the block status, Kelly needs to be added when his name appears in the queue.  As we have learned in this game, sometimes opportunity is everything.
