2016 FANTASY FOOTBALL ISSUES: PUP PLACEMENT OF DARREN McFADDEN A BOOST TO ZEKE ELLIOTT

The Dallas Cowboys on Saturday placed veteran running back Darren McFadden on the PUP list with a designation to return, in essence sidelining him for the first six games of the season due to an elbow injury.  Of course being hurt is nothing new to McFadden whose disappointing career has been filled with health woes.  However the clear highlight of McFadden's checkered career was his 2015 season with the Cowboys where he actually graded out as the 10th most productive running back in fantasy football behind the team's monster O-line.  Adept both at catching and running the football, McFadden worked well in all formats.  Now McFadden is nothing but a spectator and obviously he should not be owned in any formats given his latest injury.  However there is some fallout here in terms of McFadden's absence boosting the fantasy football stock of rookie Zeke Elliott.  Having a rough summer himself (mostly off the field though), Elliott could use some good news which he gets out of this development since he will now gain more carries and snaps.  Also veteran power back Alfred Morris remains a factor after his very impressive summer.  There is some thought that Morris could get up to ten carries a game for the Cowboys this season which would hurt Elliott some but he is more of a handcup for anyone who drafts the rookie.  Those who do own Elliott and were nervous how a three-headed attack at running back would shake out, you just some news that will clear this up for the better.
