Preseason football is here and with it the usual array of fantasy football storylines.  Let's check it out.

-Something is brewing in the Baltimore Ravens backfield as Terrance West and not Justin Forssett has been the front-runner based on performance in camp.  West then took things a step further by scoring not one but TWO rushing touchdowns during the team's preseason debut Thursday night which adds to the intrigue.  Forsett got the night off so it was not a true comparison situation but West's performance adds fuel to those reports that say he could steal the starting gig.  Buck Allen seems like an afterthought at this point, while Forsett has to get onto the field and show he still has what it takes to be the guy.  West of course was a failed draft pick of the Cleveland Browns where he averaged just 3.9 yards a carry and in 8 games a year ago with the Ravens he went for only 3.7.  Still West could be carving out at least a goal-line situation here, while Forsett works on third down and splits carries with his counterpart.  Right now both Forsett and West should be considered RB 4's, with the latter having a bit of upside.  Either way this is not looking like a fantasy football-worthy backfield worth investing in.

-Mark Sanchez did his usual thing in his debut with the Denver Broncos Thursday night, tossing a touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas and also getting picked off.  This is the story of Sanchez' career in mixing nice throws with ugly ones but overall he was smooth in completing 10-of-13 throws for 99 yards.  Forget any sort of training camp competition as this is Sanchez' job to lose and he shoud be capable of locking things down.  While most knock Sanchez rightfull, keep in mind that Peyton Manning was arguably the worst QB in the league last season so just for him being under center will help boost the status of Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
