FANTASY BASEBALL STATUS REPORT: GARY SANCHEZ C NEW YORK YANKEES

With the youth movement in full swing with the New York Yankees, we are getting a major look at the future for the team and so far what we are seeing is very intriguing indeed.  Among the batch of prospects who have gotten the call over the last few weeks, catcher Gary Sanchez has been arguably the most impressive as the smooth-hitting backstop has been on fire right out of the gates to the tune of a scorching .340 average and 4 home runs in just 49 at-bats.  The 23-year-old has always been among the most prominent hitting prospects on the Yankees but some bouts of immaturity had set back his arrival time.  With Sanchez looking more focused then ever as he hit .282 with 10 home runs and even 7 steals at Triple-A prior to his promotion, it certainly looks like the Yanks have a catcher both for the present and for the future.  Even better, the fantasy baseball community gets an infusion of a much-needed young impact hitter at the always volatile and shalow catching position and already we can say that Sanchez is a top ten guy going into 2017.  While there will be some peaks and valleys as Sanchez further figures out major league pitching, the outlook looks very promising.
