FANTASY BASEBALL BREAKING TRADE DEADLINE NEWS: ALL SIGNS POINT TO METS HOLDING ONTO DOMINIC SMITH IN JAY BRUCE DEAL

The holdup on the New York Mets' end in terms of acquiring Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce has been their reluctance to give up first base prospect Dominic Smith and it appears as though they got their wish.  A package that has outfield prospect Brandon Nimmo, likely catching prospect Kevin Plawecki, and possible one or two other moderate prospects will head to Cincy for Bruce.  Bruce has a club option for 2017 at $13 million and could serve as insurance in case of pending opt-out candidate Yoenis Cespedes bolts.

Analysis:  Great job by Sandy Alderson by the looks of it is he does keep Smith.  The Reds were losing leverage by the hour so it is no shock they didn't get a top shelf guy.
