FANTASY BASEBALL BREAKING NEWS: YANKS LOOKING TO DUMP BRIAN McCANN

With Gary Sanchez clubbing home runs on a daily basis, the New York Yankees are already seeing what is out there in terms of unloading veteran catcher Brian McCann.  A team source acknowledged that McCann doesn't fit into the team's future for 2017 and that they will actively try to find a trade partner to unload the veteran before next season.  McCann has already cleared waivers but he still has two years at $34 million coming to him.

Analysis:  No shock here as McCann is hardly playing now and at 33 in February, he simply does not fit in on this team anymore.  The Atlanta Braves remain interested in a reunion but the Yanks are going to have to eat a sizable amount of the remaining money on the deal.  Meanwhile anyone owning McCann can now cut him loose as he won't play much the remainder of the season.
