FANTASY BASEBALL TRADE DEADLINE NEWS: YANKS WILL MOVE AROLDIS CHAPMAN

By Michael Wong

With the MLB Trading Deadline a few weeks away, let's get the ball rolling on periodic rumors and news concerning who is available and who could be on the move.

-Having already told Andrew Miller he would not be dealt and with Dellin Betances under no circumstances going anywhere, the New York Yankees have quietly let it be known that closer Aroldis Chapman is very much available.  With the Yankees treading water around the .500 mark all season, team sources are saying Chapman will be moved since he is a free agent at the end of the season and that the team have a ready-made replacement in Miller to take over the ninth inning in 2017.

-Another closer who will likely be on the move is the Arizona Diamondbacks' Brad Ziegler and the Oakland A's Ryan Madson.  Madson in particular is getting a lot attention as he is on a one-year deal.

-Multiple sources indicate it is only a matter of time before the Cincinnati Reds and Toronto Blue Jays complete a deal for outfielder Jay Bruce.  The Reds also will entertain offers for shortstop Zack Cozart.

-The Pittsburgh Pirates are ready to start selling off veteran pieces as they have already promoted top first base prospect Josh Bell.  Pitcher Joathan Niese and first baseman John Jaso can be had easily, while the team also won't say not to offers for closer Mark Melancon.

-The Atlanta Braves continue to say starter Julio Teheran is not available and that makes sense since he is a building block for the team as they open up a new park in 2017.  Erick Aybar is available and so is anyone else not named Freddie Freeman.
