FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: SETBACK FOR CLAYTON KERSHAW, JULIO URIAS BACK

Those who own fantasy baseball stock in Clayton Kershaw got more devastating news on Tuesday when it was revealed by the team that the ace pitcher experienced renewed back pain after throwing a simulated game on Monday.  As a result of the pain, Kershaw is being shut down again with no immediate return date planned.  Julio Urias was recalled to take Kershaw's spot in the rotation and manager Dave Roberts was very vague on what the future holds for the latter given the setback.  Surgery has not been mentioned but now we have to believe that Kershaw will not be allowed to throw for the rest of the week and his return is now going to be at least two more weeks away.  This of course is monstrously bad news for Kershaw's owners as he remains the slam dunk number 1 pitcher in fantasy baseball by a mile but one has to believe that all the past few seasons of very high inning totals are taking a toll on his physically.  While Kershaw is still too young to see any erosion in his stuff due to the innings, physical maladies cropping up is in play for sure.  The fallout here in terms of Urias is that the 19-year-old gets another shot in the rotation and a chance to build on a very inconsistent debut earlier in the year.  Poor control in the majors was the main factor in Urias being sent back down but his potent power arsenal is going to be a force to be reckoned with real soon.
