FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: MATT HARVEY'S NIGHTMARE SEASON GETS WORSE

Already dealing with vastly diminished stuff that has put him on a per start basis as one of the worst pitchers in baseball in 2016, the New York Mets' Matt Harvey reached a new low on Wednesday when the team placed him on the 15-day DL with a bout of shoulder soreness.  With a beyond ugly 4.86 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and drastically reduced K rate, nothing has gone right for Harvey as blame has centered on the very high amount of innings he tossed a year ago which was his first season coming back from Tommy John surgery.  Having been shelled for six earned runs in his last outing, no mention of any discomfort was found.  It is entirely possible the Mets have placed Harvey on the DL as a head clearning move and in all honesty they can't be blamed for trying anything at this point given how terrible he has performed.  No matter how you view Harvey either long or short-term, his 2016 season has been comically bad and removed almost all of his previous star shine when he was performing like a fantasy baseball ace as a very young age.
