FANTASY BASEBALL ISSUES: MARLON BYRD PINCHED FOR PED'S A SECOND TIME, BANNED 162 GAMES

It never ends.  The stupidity that is Major League Baseball players getting caught and testing positive for PED's seems to have no endpoint as the latest bombshell came down Wednesday as it was learned Cleveland Indians outfielder Marlon Byrd tested positive for the second time which resulted in a 162-game ban.  Likely to simply retire due to his advanced age and declining skills in 2016, Byrd is just the latest "name" player to get busted over the last few weeks.  From All-Star second baseman Dee Gordon to useful 1B/DH Chris Colabello, to Byrd's teammate Abraham Almonte, it never ends.  By now it is obvious that the shocking late-career "resurgence" of Byrd was due solely to steroids as he was a nothing player and failed prospect before he started slamming home runs with the New York Mets past the age of 30.  Byrd can obviously be cut in all formats and he serves as another example of how the desire for the next contract and the wish to stick around in the game lead these players to make such foolish decisions.
