FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: HUNTER PENCE NOW ENTERING INTO AGE-RELATED INJURY RISK PHASE OF HIS CAREER

It was an ugly scene Wednesday night for the San Francisco Giants when All-Star outfielder Hunter Pence went down with what manager Bruce Bochy labeled a "severe" hamstring straing that already has him on the disabled list as of early Thursday.  The strain is believed to be the worst type of strain and that means Pence will be down at least a month and likely more.  Having antoehr solid and effective season with a .298 average and 7 home runs, Pence now has his second serious injury in two years after a fractured forearm and oblique strain made a mess of his 2015 season.  Aging at the age of 33, Pence is now squarely into the realm of being an increasing injury risk that will only get worse from here on out.  While we have been big proponents of Pence and his underrated fantasy baseball haul, hisw status as even an otufielder 2 is now up for question after he was a bordeline one for the better part of a decade.  With all that said, those who own Pence as yours truly does should stash him if you have multiple DL spots but in shallower formats you don't want to wait around for him to return as it could be awhile on that front.  Again there are few out there who are bigger boosters of Pence but we have to ackowledge the fact that things are easilty going in the wrong direction here.
