FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: LUIS SEVERINO AWFUL SEASON GETS WORSE, HITS DL WITH TRICEPS

As if things couldn't get any worse for New York Yankees youthful SP Luis Severino who got bombed for 7 earned runs in a brief appearance Friday, the team was forced to place him on the DL early Saturday with a triceps injury.  Sitting with an ungodly ERA and with hit rates through the roof, Severino arguably has been the WORST every five days pitcher in fantasy baseball.  In fact if he didn't go on the DL, Severino would no doubt have been sent to the minor leagues as he has been that bad.  Anyone who was excited to own Severino during the drafting season (which was an understandable premise considering how good he was in 2015), that has been dulled to the extreme point where he can't even be owned.  In fairness, we were on the side of being positive about Severino considering how polished he had looked at such a young age but he becomes the latest example of a sophomore slump due to opposing hitters getting a firm read on his stuff and approach and adjusting their swings.  The bottom line is that Severino should be dropped in any competitive league.
