FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: AROD HITS DL AT WORST TIME

We don't often get to say this when it comes to fantasy baseball and the potency of certain teams but for the first time in forever, the New York Yankees lineup is a team you want to stream pitchers against.  Yes despite the massive offensive leanings of Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Bombers have been anything but this season as pretty much every hitter up and down the lineup not named Starlin Castro or Carlos Beltran has struggled terribly.  That includes DH Alex Rodriguez who of course came back from the professional dead in 2015 by hitting a shocking 33 home runs after sitting out a year due to the Biogenesis investigation.  Alas despite the comeback, investing in Rodriguez for 2016 was as risky as ever given the fact he would be turning 41 and his .250 average from a year earlier indicated that he was now pretty much and all-or-nothing home run hitter.  It certainly seemed in the first few weeks that Rodriguez was in fact finished as he went into a series against the Texas Rangers with a .145 average and 2 home runs.  A twinge in his oblique just compounded the struggles.  However Rodriguez avoided the DL and after hitting a home run in his one game against Texas, proceeded to hit two more in the following series against the Boston Red Sox.  With the average now up to .194 and climbing, Rodriguez strained his hamstring which forced the Yanks to place him on the disabled list Wednesday.  There is no word how long Rodriguez will be out but those who stuck with him to this point can safely cut him loose.  While Rodriguez can still hit for power, he can't do anything else to help you and using a bench or DL spot on him would be a waste.
