FANTASY BASEBALL WELCOME TO THE SHOW: MALLEX SMITH OUTFIELDER ATLANTA BRAVES

A decent fantasy baseball sleeper for the 2016 season was new Atlanta Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte.  Freed from an outfield glut in Arizona, Inciarte was being given a prime chance to be the team's everyday leadoff man both this season and into the future for the Braves.  With good contact skills and tremendous speed with a bit of pop, there was a lot to like regarding Smith.  However the story never really got a chance to get started as Inciarte hit the DL Sunday with a strained hamstring.  The fallout of his absence brings forth another interesting name in the form of speedster Mallex Smith who was promoted to take Inciarte's roster spot.  When it comes to the 22-year-old former fifth round pick, Smith has speed to burn which he showed when he swiped 56 bases between Double-A and Triple-A last season.  Smith also can handle the bat as he batted a collective .303 as he shows good contact skills (17.1 and 14.3 K/9 rates at Double-A and Triple-A respectively).  Smith will likely take Inciarte's spot in the everyday lineup and may even be given a chance to hit leadoff which would make him even more intriguing.  Pick up Smith where available as his immense stolen base potential can go a long way toward swaying things in the short-term.  Also if Smith nails the adution, he could stick around.
