FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FOCUS: DREADED CALF INJURY FOR JOSH DONALDSON

A very big name pulled up lame during early fantasy baseball action on Wednesday as Toronto Blue Jays third baseman and first round stalwart Josh Donaldson suffered a strained calf that has his future availability uncertain.  Manager John Gibbons said after the game that Donaldson suffered the strain during the seventh inning and that he will be evaluated again early Thursday.  While Donaldson is being called day-to-day for now, this could be trouble in terms of needing a DL stint as most calf injuries require such a situation.  There will be a diagnosis regarding the severity, with a Grade 1 likely being a few days and back on the field.  Anything more and Donaldson will surely hit the DL which would be a tremendous blow to his fantasy baseball owners who spent a mid-first round pick on the slugger.  Stay tuned and get a replacement lined up if you are invested.
