FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: TOMMY PHAM QUICKLY PUT ON DL WITH OBLIQUE WHICH GIVES ALEDMYS DIAZ A LOOK

The St. Louis Cardinals wasted little time putting outfielder Tommy Pham on the 15-day DL Monday after he strained his oblique early in the team's opener on Sunday.  The corresponding roster move had the Cardinals promoting shortstop prospect Aledmys Diaz who will now get a look both in the infield and maybe the outfield.  As far as upside is concerned, Diaz is just 25 and did a good but not great job at Double-A in 2015.  It was there where Diaz batted .264 with 10 home runs and 6 stolen bases which didn't move the hype meter much when it came to his potential value.  Shortstop is the key here though as we all know how tough the position is to fill and Diaz could get a shot at consistent playing time with only the average Ruben Tejada in front of him.
