FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: DODGERS SHORTHANDED EARLY AS KENRICK AND GRANDAL BOTH HIT DL

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost ace SP Zack Greinke in free agency over the winter and that alone had them at less than 2015 optimum strength.  They also got set back on the injury front as both newly signed second baseman Howie Kendrick and catcher Yasmani Grandal were placed on the disabled list prior to the opener.  For Kendrick, it was a calf problem that will keep him out until April 12th according to the team.  Chase Utley will start in his place but he is well beyond the point of being useful in fantasy baseball.  Kendrick meanwhile has decent value on a yearly basis as he supplies some numbers in each of the five standard ROTO categories without blowing any one up.  Meanwhile Grandal battled shoulder issues all spring which has been a problem for him in the past.  He also more recently has dealt with a forearm strain that necessitated the DL stint.  Grandal is not expected to miss much time and A.J. Ellis will start in his place.  Keep in mind that Grandal has good power for a catcher and had a string of good batting averages while in the minors.  If you are in a two catcher formats, hold Grandal due to his power potential alone.
