FANTASY BASEBALL CLOSING TIME: SHAWN TOLLESON ALREADY IN TROUBLE AFTER EPIC BLOWN SAVE?

For anyone who owns Texas Rangers closer Shawn Tolleson, it was one of those days where you couldn't even look at the boxscore due to the massive amount of instant nausea it elicited.  We are of course referring to the colossal blown save Tolleson suffered Wednesday afternoon when he gave up five hits and five earned runs without recording a single out to give his owners the hideous "INF" next to his name for the day.  It was such a putrid outing that it already was brining forth talk that Tolleson's closer role could be in jeopardy despite the season being only a few days old.  While we won't go that far, it is worth pointing out that Tolleson very limited track record as a closer works against him and shortens his leash moving forward.  Tolleson will no doubt be given the next save chance to try and reverse things but another poor outing could already get him removed.  Those who own Tolleson (who did a terrific job in his first go-round as a closer in 2015 by nailing down 35 saves in 37 chances with a 2.99 ERA) have to start looking at possible replacements which should center between setup men Sam Dyson and Keone Kela.  Kela got hit around in the same game as the Tolleson blown save but he was very good in 2015 with a 2.39 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 60 innings.  Dyson meanwhile put up a 1.15 ERA with the Rangers last season after coming over from Miami where he pitched to a 3.68 mark.  Dyson threw in the eighth inning prior to the Tolleson implosion so that could indicate he would be first in line but it is not a given.  Still Tolleson was good in his first save chance which was a scoreless outing with 2 K's but this latest one was downright hideous.  Tolleson has to throw a clean frame the next time out or else the chorus will grow for a change.  It gets late early as Yogi Berra once said.
