FANTASY FOOTBALL TRADE FALLOUT: EAGLES THROW IN TOWEL ON DeMARCO MURRAY BY DUMPING HIM ON TENNESSEE

It took just one season for the Philadelphia Eagles to admit their colossal mistake of signing DeMarco Murray to a monster free agent deal last offseason, a move that fired head coach Chip Kelly decided was the right one to replace the traded LeSean McCoy.  Coming off an Offensive Player of the Year running/receiving blockbuster campaign with the Dallas Cowboys in 2014, Murray was completely brutal from Week 1 throughout the remainder of the 2015 season for the Eagles.  Simply put, Murray proved to be a horrendous fit in Kelly's offensive attack as he averaged just 3.64 yards per carry in a truly brutal season.  In fact Murray was the easy call as the biggest bust of 2015 fantasy football as his first round ADP cost his owners terribly.  The big problem with Murray in Philly is that Kelly had him running laterally and then asked him to shoot up the field when a hole opened up in the blocking.  However Murray excelled in Dallas due to the straight-ahead running attack the team employed, with him being asked to tote the rock and quickly shoot up the seam going north-south.  Now the Eagles have thrown in the towel on Murray by shipping him to the Tennessee Titans in a move that could be announced by the time you read this.  The Titans were right there as one of the worst rushing teams in the NFL last season but in Murray they now have a guy who is capable of a full workload as a primary runner.  Murray is still quite talented and can help both in the running and receiving game but it is imperative the Titans use him like Dallas did just in 2014.  Right now Murray can reclaim RB 2 value with the chance for more.  A possible solid bounce back could be in the offing.
