FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: CAMERON MAYBIN DOWN 4-6 WEEKS WITH FRACTURED WRIST

The injuries kept on going at a fast and furious pace at the start of 2016 spring training and the latest victim is Detroit Tigers outfielder Cameron Maybin who will be down 4-6 weeks after he suffered a fractured left wrist that a CT scan revealed on Thursday.  As a result, Maybin will be out until mid-April which means Anthony Gose will play the majority of games in his place.  Maybin was brought back to the Tigers over this past winter after he quietly put together a very good season for the Atlanta Braves in 2015.  Maybin first suffered the injury when he was hit on Wednesday by a Luis Severino pitch and his loss is a decent blow to those who take part especially in five outfielder formats.  Overall, Maybin might have played over his head last season and been in outlier territory but he still has the wheels to steal 20-plus bases and crack a few home runs.  He does strike out a lot which hurts his batting average so Maybin is only an outfielder 3 in fantasy baseball formats.  Gose is worth an add in his place in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues as he can steal bases at a decent clip as well.  Meanwhile Maybin is worth holding on your bench if you have the space.
