FANTASY BASEBALL CLOSING TIME: BREWERS TO GO INTO SEASON WITH COMMITTEE

It was widely assumed that the Milwaukee Brewers would decide on a closer option heading into the 2016 fantasy baseball season, with the six week slog of spring training being more than enough time to settle the matter.  Despite one of the two involved candidates coming down with a hamstring injury, the team announced Wedneasday their plan to go into the season with a committee centering on righty Jeremy Jeffress and lefty Will Smith.  With Jeffress having been very limitded thus far with the hamstring, Will Smith was looking more and more like the safe bet as his ADP rose sharply.  However this news forces fantasy baseball participants to continue holding both Smith and Jeffress until the matetr is solved once and for all.  Since a committee is as big a frustration topic as you can find in fantasy baseball, the arrangement at the same time is not ideal for the Brewers themselves.  We have said from the beginning that Smith was the favorite for the job due to his extreme K Rate but Jeffress will hang around for a bit longer based on this report.  Now Jeffress had a decent first season in setup in 2015 after pitching like an epic failure as a starter and being righthanded always is a plus which makes him more than a minor storyline.  However Smith has the longer track record of succeeding as a reliever and again the K Rate screams out being a future closer.  If you are holding stock in either guy though, be sure you see this situation through.
