FANTASY BASEBALL NEWS: ROCKIES MOVING CLOSE TO DEAL WITH GERARDO PARRA

The Colorado Rockies are moving closer to completing a deal for free agent outfielder Gerardo Parra according to multiple sources.  The Rockies and Parra have been engaged in discussions for the last few weeks and have apparently taken a firm step forward to progress the talks to a more prominent level.  The Los Angeles Angels and Washington Nationals are also involved with Parra.

Analysis:  The Nats are likely not serious suitors after addressing their leadoff spot with Ben Revere but the Rockies have been connected to Parra the most since the start of free agency.  His 2015 campaign was quietly very good as Parra batted .291 and hit 14 home runs with 14 stolen bases.  The Rockies are the most ideal landing spot for any hitter and he could sneak into outfielder 2 value as a Carlos Gomez-type player there.  Also the Rockies outfield will need to be addressed as Parra would join Corey Dickerson, Charlie Blackmon, and Carlos Gonzalez.
