FANTASY BASEBALL NEWS: ROCKIES AGREE TO CONTRACT WITH GERARDO PARRA

The Colorado Rockies have agreed to terms with outfielder Gerardo Parra on a three-year deal that is pending a physical.  Terms of the contract were not disclosed but an announcement is expected sometime on Wednesday.

Analysis:  This is what we started reporting on Monday and now the deal appears to be done.  What is interesting now is two things.  The first is whether or not Parra will displace Charlie Blackmon in the precious leadoff spot for the Rockies.  The second obviously will involve a trade of either Blackmon, Corey Dickerson, or Carlos Gonzalez as there are now four outfielders for three spots.  As far as Parra is concerned, he could move to outfielder 2 status this season in doing a very good Blackmon impersonation in terms of numbers.  Move him up your rankings.
