2016 FANTASY BASEBALL ISSUES: SPORTING NEWS TOP 12

A few days ago we discussed the annual Lindy's Fantasy Baseball Draft Guide Top Ten and compared it to ours.  On the same note, let's do the same with the annual Sporting News Fantasy Baseball Draft Guide Top 12.  Let's see how they view a typical first round of the draft.

Sporting News Top 12     Our Top 12

1.  Mike Trout                  Mike Trout
2.  Bryce Harper              Bryce Harper
3.  Paul Goldschmidt       Paul Goldschmidt
4.  Andrew McCutchen   Giancarlo Stanton
5.  Josh Donaldson          Andrew McCutchen
6.  Clayton Kershaw        Jose Altuve
7.  Giancarlo Stanton       Josh Donaldson
8.  Manny Machado         Manny Machado
9.  Nolan Arendado          Nolan Arenado
10. Carlos Correa             Anthony Rizzo
11. Edwin Encarnacion    Miguel Cabrera
12. Adam Jones                Clayton Kershaw

All right so just like with Lindy's and our publications, we are in firm agreement over the top three of in order Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, and Paul Goldschmidt.  Lindy's and Sporting News both put McCutchen fourth while we favored Giancarlo Stanton.  We were in the same ballpark on Josh Donaldson (both had him at 5 while we had him at 7), and we were in complete agreement with Sporting News on Manny Machado and Nolan Arenado and 8 and 9.  Still trying to figure out how Lindy's didn't have either Machado or Stanton in their Top 10.  We were the only ones to not have Carlos Correa in the Top 12 as we have him just outside at number 13.  We also are standing alone with Jose Altuve at number 6 but his extreme numbers at a shallow second base spot warrant it.  We also went with him over Correa due to his more proven track record.  When looking at the rest of the Sporting News list, we are not liking Edwin Encarnacion in the Top 12.  We had him in the first round last season but age and injuries are becoming a factor.  We also had Adam Jones in Round 1 last season but we have him at number 14.  Overall though the two lists are close.

Again which list is better?  Who is more to your liking.  Post your thoughts below.  Keep it clean.
