To say that the running back position in 2015 fantasy football has been a colossal disaster would clearly be a grand understatement.  With Jamaal Charles and Le'Veon Bell out for the season, not to mention bust campaign from Eddie Lacy, C.J. Anderson, and to a lesser extent Matt Forte, there has been trouble all the way around.  As the fantasy football playoffs get set to launch as soon as next week, there are a few other annoying developments that are clouding the decision-making for those still in the running for their league title.  Two such cases are in Chicago and Kansas City which we discuss below.

Kansas City Chiefs:  First Charles went out for the season which no doubt was the biggest injury blow of the entire fantasy football season considering he was the number 1 pick in many leagues.  The fallout seemed to be a positive though as Charcandrick West emerged with a string of terrific outings that had him as a rare workhorse back that supplied some tremendous second-half value like Anderson did a year earlier.  Unfortunately West pulled up lame with a hamstring injury in Week 12 which put Spencer Ware on the field.  Ware finished up Week 12 by rushing for over 100 yards and picking up two scores in garbage-time which made him a big waiver wire pickup prior to Week 13.  With West sitting out, Ware was very good again as he rushed for 114 yards and another score in the win over the Buffalo Bills.  Now with West back practicing this week, there could be a split coming for Week 14 in terms of usage.  That would be quite annoying for West's owners and Ware's as well since a split would hurt both of their bottom line values and make deciding between the two in terms of who to start very difficult.  Sort of like the setup in this other locale.

Chicago Bears:  The Bears have a very frustrating situation right now with both Matt Forte and rookie Jeremy Langford healthy and active.  Forte returned for Week 13 after missing three games with a sprain in the MCL of his knee and Langford was very good in his place in running for power and catching passes.  Sort of like what Forte has done throughout his career.  Well Forte's return was not good as he caught just one pass on Thanksgiving and ran poorly.  Meanwhile Langford picked up a rushing score and was the more explosive back in about the same amount of carries.  Thus as Week 14 gets set to launch, both Forte and Langford as expected to be involved again which again makes it very tough to decide who to start.  Right now it looks like Langford is fresher and running better, in addition to receiving the goal-line work.  That could make him the better option but in PPR formats Forte will likely be worth using.  Again very tough to decide here among the two backs.

Overall these are very tough situations right now for owners of all four of these players and deciding who to go with in their lineups.  All four could cancel each other out and make earning quality fantasy football numbers tough.  With the playoff weeks beckoning, this is not what you want to be dealing with.  Read the reports on Friday to get a better read on this but if we had to choose, we would go with West and Langford.
