FANTASY BASEBALL WINTER MEETINGS REPORT: TIGERS OUT OF ALEX GORDON, YOENIS CESPEDES SWEEPSTAKES

By Michael Wong

Nashville, TN.--The amount of trade and free agent chatter is incredible here as seemingly dozens upon dozens of players are seeing their names pop up.  Let's get to the latest.

-The Pittsburgh Pirates are becoming quite active as they are involved in the Mitch Moreland trade talks, while also making overtures to the Milwaukee Brewers for catcher Jonathan Lucroy.  Lucroy is another new name that has popped up on Monday, with the Texas Rangers are heavily involved.  The Brewers have been listening to pretty much every player on the roster, with first baseman Adam Lind also expected to be dealt.

-Cliff Lee is getting a ton of attention which makes sense given the fact he is a pure buy low as an aging pitcher coming off a very serious injury.

-All is quiet on the David Robertson trade talks as at least for now the Chicago White Sox are not involved in anything there.

-Joey Votto is one Cincinnati Red who is not going anywhere.  He will not waive his no-trade clause.

-Contrary to some earlier suggestions, the Baltimore Orioles do in fact want to bring Chris Davis back but they also realize his price tag is likely going to be too much.  Meanwhile Pedro Alvarez and Mitch Moreland are becoming replacement options at first base.
