FANTASY BASEBALL NEWS: METS SET TO OFFER FOURTH YEAR TO BEN ZOBRIST

The New York Mets are prepared to offer free agent infielder Ben Zobrist a four-year contract, which is a departure from their original stance of only wanting to offer three. With Zobrist adamant that he wants four years, a Mets team source reported that the team is resigned to offering him one considering the plush market for his services.  Zobrist is currently touring the prospective teams that include the Mets, Cardinals, Giants, and Nationals.

Analysis:  The Mets and Nationals are battling it out over Zobrist and that is likely why they are willing to do the four years so as not to lose him to their division rivals.  All indications are that Zobrist will make a move in the next few days, with the Mets in a strong position to add him to their core.
