FANTASY BASEBALL NEWS: CUBS STEPPING UP TRADE EFFORTS FOR CARLOS CARRASCO

The Chicago Cubs continue to pursue upgrades to their starting rotation after signing John Lackey to a two-year deal on Friday.  Reports now indicate the team is stepping up their pursuit of Cleveland Indians starter Carlos Carrasco.  The Indians have been listening to trade inquiries on Carrasco but nothing at this time appears imminent.

Analysis:  Carrasco is some talent as he has blossomed into a monster strikeout artist the last two years.  It makes you wonder why the Indians wouldn't want to continue pairing him with Corey Kluber but that is a debate for another day.  As far as 2016 fantasy baseball is concerned, Carrasco would be even more valuable in the National League where he could win the strikeout title if it were not for Clayton Kershaw.
