FANTASY FOOTBALL INJURY FALLOUT: GRONK TO MISS "MULTIPLE WEEKS" WITH KNEE INJURY

While he will not miss the entire season as first feared, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will sit out for "a few weeks" according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  With Schefter's reports almost always being on target, that means Gronkowski will miss at the very least and likely Week 14 as well.  The timing is simply awful as Gronkowski will not be available to his owners for the last or second to last week of the fantasy football regular season and his loss is as big as it gets.  To put Gronk's impact in perspective around the NFL, only he and Houston's J.J. Watt were given perfect grades by the Madden video game entering into the season.  That would be an understandable rank as Gronkowski is simply as big a mismatch as a receiver can get, blending supreme size with terrific athleticism that makes him one big play waiting to happen.  Unfortunately injuries seem to always be part of the narrative when it comes to Gronkowski, who has now undergone serious surgeries on his knee and back in recent seasons.  With Gronkowski now ruled out for at least Week 13, the fallout is big for QB Tom Brady and the rest of the New England offense.  For one thing, Brady will be hurt big-time by this as he continues to lose weapons by the week.  With Julian Edelman and Dion Lewis already out for the season and Danny Amendola hobbled, Brady can't afford to lose anyone else.  Amendola is likely to return for Week 13 though and he should instantly be the biggest passing target of Brady.  In addition, Brandon LaFell and tight end Scott Chandler will see a sizable uptick in targets as well.  Chandler in particular is a big addition this week off the wire as he has good hands and can be a force in the red zone.  Make the move as we all know how much Brady loves to chuck it to his tight ends.  Overall Brady is still to be started each and every week but his outlook is not looking as glowing as it did a few weeks earlier.
