FANTASY FOOTBALL INJURY FALLOUT: KELVIN BEMJAMIN FIRST CASUALTY OF 2015, DONE FOR YEAR WITH TORN ACL

The updated is in on Carolina Panthers second-year wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin and the news is devastating as it was learned he suffered a season-ending torn ACL that will require reconstructive surgery.  Coming off a very solid rookie season where Benjamin immediately showed a knack for scoring touchdowns, his next catch won't come until 2016.  The fallout here is sizable for Benjamin's owners who already are down one of their top fantasy football wideouts.  Earlier in the day I suggested picking up rookie Panthers wideout Devin Funchess who stands to pick up the receiving slack in Benjamin's place along with Jerricho Cotchery and tight end Greg Olsen.  Olsen in particular looks like a good bet to catch over 80 balls as a result of Benjamin;s injury as QB Cam Newton is in severe need of target.  Funchess has immense size and better speed than Benjamin so he could be someone who could contribute right away much like his counterpart did in 2014.  Cut Benjamin loose in all formats.
