FANTASY BASEBALL WELCOME TO THE SHOW: TREA TURNER SS WASHINGTON NATIONALS

While clearing an act of desperation considering how badly the team has played over the last month, the Washington Nationals made a potentially big fantasy baseball-newsworthy move on Friday by calling up top shortstop prospect Trea Turner to make his debut Friday night.  Having just turned 22 last month, Turner had a strange odyssey over the last year as he began the 2015 season in the San Diego Padres system despite being property of the Washington Nationals who acquire him in the big Steven Souza-Wil Myers deal involving Tampa Bay.  Since MLB rules stipulated a player couldn't switch teams until a year passed after signing their initial contract, Turner had to wait until last month to make his way to the Nats minor league system.  It was not a long stay on the Washington farm though as Turner joins Carlos Correa as two incredibly young but incredibly gifted shortstops to make their way to the majors in 2015.  While Correa had more pomp and circumstance attached to his name going back to last season, you can argue that Turner was just as productive this season in the minors as he goes into his Nationals career with a .322 average to go along with 8 home runs and 19 stolen bases split between Double-A and Triple-A.  Turner possesses that rare and incredibly attractive power/speed game that makes us all drool and that is especially so at the very shallow shortstop spot.  The current plan is for Turner to split his time between shortstop and second base for the Nationals and with Ian Desmond not coming back after the season due to free agency and his terrible year, the starting spot should belong to the kid in 2016.  At the very least, Turner has a chance to be like Correa in contributing to all five standard ROTO categories, which makes him a daily option at shortstop.  The talent is immense here and you should have run to the wire to add him upon hearing the news.  Enjoy the show because it will be one you don't want to miss out on seeing.
