FANTASY BASEBALL BREAKING CLOSER NEWS: JONATHAN PAPELBON TO SUPPLANT DREW STOREN AS CLOSER FOR NATS

Shortly after the Washington Nationals announced the trade for Philadelphia Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon, the team confirmed that he and not Drew Storen would man the ninth inning for the team going forward.  This despite the fact Storen has been excellent this season with a 1.73 ERA.  Papelbon needed to be convinced that the Nats planned to use him as the team's closer before the deal went through.

Analysis:  Boy did both Storen and his fantasy baseball owners gets screwed.  While Storen has struggled in the postseason, he has been tremendous this season as one of the best closers in the game.  Papelbon has some diva in him which is why he needed to know he was closing before he agreed to the trade.  Storen loses almost all of his value as a result, while Ken Giles now ascends to the closer role with the Phillies.
