FANTASY FOOTBALL ISSUES: STICK A FORK IN ADRIAN PETERSON, RETURN UNLIKELY SAYS SOURCE

Hours after the Minnesota Vikings placed RB Adrian Peterson on an indefinite Exempt/Commissioner's List due to the ongoing child abuse scandal rocking the NFL's best running back, a team source indicated late Tuesday that the team is planning on being without him for the remainder of the season.  Matt Asiata has already been told to prepare as if he will be the starter the rest of the season as the Vikings have firmly decided having Peterson on the team is not worth the public backlash they have taken.  The fallout from this of course goes beyond fantasy football which is something we can't ever lose sight of.  However arguably the third-ranked running back in the game behind LeSean McCoy and Jamaal Charles is now looking like he is finished for 2014 which of course could be a development that his owners can't recover from.  With Charles also sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain, we have seen for the second season in a row first round backs fall by the wayside and go bust.  Asiata didn't run the ball well in his debut but he deserves another look in order to see if he was not simply just pressing in his first start.  Meanwhile the waiver day is likely through in your league so those who wanted to get Knile Davis or Donald Brown are probably out of luck.  Jonathan Stewart could still be on the wire and is worth a look but in actuality taking someone like Peterson off any roster is impossible to deal with in any league.
