FANTASY FOOTBALL INJURY FALLOUT: JAMAAL CHARLES COULD BE OUT 4-6 WEEKS WITH DREADED HIGH ANKLE SPRAIN

The injury news is in on Kansas City Chiefs RB, and consensus number 1 player in 2014 fantasy football, Jamaal Charles.  Charles has officially been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain which will sideline him anywhere from a month to six weeks.  The shot to the gut for all Charles' owners is monstrous and the immediate plan has to be getting their hands on backup Knile Davis who rushed for over 100 yards and two scores in his place Sunday.  Failing that, other injury replacements among Donald Brown of San Diego, Lamar Miller of Miami, and Khiry Robinson of New Orleans are the next best options.  Be that as it may, Charles is impossible to fully replace given his extreme ability in both the running and receiving game.  He was coming off a career season in 2013 that always sets a player up for a depression in value a year later and in Charles' case it is another flare of injuries that have dogged him throughout his career.  Those who own Charles certainly have company in the awful Week 2 injury epidemic regarding the running back fraternity.

  1. I'm in an 8 team standard league. Unfortunately I have Charles, Mathews, and Tate with Steven Jackson and Terrance West on the bench. I have one roster spot for a RB and need to pick one of these guys up:

    Knile Davis
    Bobby Rainey
    Mark Ingram
    Stevan Ridley
    Chris Ivory
    Ahmad Bradshaw
    Darren Sproles

Who should I pick up? My gut is telling me Ingram, but I'd appreciate the help!

  2. Well I guess Ingram is no longer an option. Any thoughts?
