FANTASY BASEBALL BREAKING NEWS: JACOBY ELLSBURY DONE FOR 2014 WITH HAMSTRING INJURY

                                                   Jacoby Ellsbury

New York Yankees outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury has been shut down for the remainder of the 2014 season due to the hamstring injury he suffered in Friday night's game.  Ellsbury was headed for an MRI Saturday and with the Yankees clearly out of the playoff race, team brass ultimately decided to not take chances with their high-priced outfielder.

Analysis:  All in all it was a good but not great season for Ellsbury who saw a drop in two of the three categories he makes his biggest impact in.  Ellsbury hit only .271 and scored only 71 runs, the latter an indictment of the comically inept Yankees bats.  However Ellsbury upped the home runs are expected to 16 in moving into the lefty-favoring Yankee Stadium and kept up top-end speed with a total of 39 steals.  The biggest positive perhaps was that Ellsbury was able to stay healthy up until the last two weeks of the season.  He remains a rock solid outfielder 1 for 2015 fantasy baseball.
