FANTASY FOOTBALL STOCK UP/STOCK DOWN

STOCK UP

Julio Jones:  To this point there have been no issues with Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones' twice-broken foot.  While the team will continue to monitor his workload in camp and his action in preseason games, Jones is expected to be 100 percent for Week 1 and thus reclaim his place as a top five fantasy football wideout.  Keep in mind that before Jones broke the foot a year ago, he was on pace to have the best statistical season of any wide receiver in football, including over Calvin Johnson and Demaryuis Thomas.  Yes there is still risk in investing here but Jones could be among the cheapest WR 1's in the game.

Miles Austin:  With Josh Gordon set to be suspended for the entire 2014 season, Austin is set to be the top wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns.  While Brian Hoyer or rookie Johnny Manziel leave a lot to be desired in terms of what you want out of a QB for your fantasy football wideout, Austin has had some very productive stretches in his career when he is not battling hamstring issues.

STOCK DOWN

Darren McFadden:  Despite the media in Oakland saying that McFadden would be the starting running back for the team this season, Rum DMC is listed behind free agent addition Maurice Jones-Drew on the depth chart.  With McFadden falling into the been there/done that mode, Jones-Drew should get a long look after the Raiders inked him in the offseason.  Neither guy has more than RB 3 value regardless of the setup.
