FANTASY FOOTBALL STOCK UP/STOCK DOWN

STOCK UP

Steven Jackson:  Word out of Atlanta Falcons camp is that the veteran Jackson will be ready to go for Week 1 despite battling more hamstring issues this summer.  Jackson has ramped up his on-field work and the team plans on employing him as the starter over rookie Devonta Freeman against the New Orleans Saints.  While Jackson is a very old 31 with a ton of wear and tear on his tires, the Falcons will at the very least start the season giving him the majority of carries including all goal-line work.  There is RB 2 potential if Jackson can stay on the field.

Andre Johnson:  Speaking of bum hamstrings, Andre Johnson has surely had his share.  However the PPR star is reportedly catching everything in sight in camp and at the very least you know he will be heavily targeted like always no matter if Ryan Fitzpatrick of Case Keenum is under center.  Those who own Johnson should root for Keenum to pull the upset as the two hooked up for a few touchdowns when the latter was at the helm last season.  Since one of Johnson's biggest knocks is his inability to score, this is something which needs to be watched.

Justin Hunter:  The second-year man out of Tennessee might join former college teammate Cordarelle Patterson as big time breakout candidates this season.  Word out of Tennessee camp is that Jake Lock to Hunter in the red zone is "unstoppable" and at 6-4 one can understand why.  Hunter is a major person of interest in standard formats since he seems like the primary red zone threat in the passing game.

STOCK DOWN

Le'Veon Bell:  As if Bell's stock can't get any lower.  In fact no player perhaps has seen their fantasy football stock drop more from the start of camp outside of injuries than Bell.  First he loses goal-line work to LeGarrett Blount and now he gets pinched with his partner for marijuana possession to go along with a DUI.  A suspension is likely here so now we have missed games to talk about to go along with the lost scores.  Not good all the way around.
