FANTASY BASEBALL BREAKING NEWS: RED SOX REEL IN RUSNEY CASTILLO WITH SIX-YEAR DEAL WORTH $72 MILLION

The Boston Red Sox will sign free agent Cuban outfielder Rusney Castillo to a six-year deal worth $72 million.  After being chased by up to 10 different teams, the Red Sox moved to the front of the pack as the upped their offer over the last 48 hours to the $72 million.  While Castillo has said publicly he wants to play in the majors this season, the rebuilding Sox are likely going to have him serve the rest of the 2014 in the minors in preparation for 2015.

Analysis:  The market for Cuban imports has exploded given the instant success of guys like Jose Fernandez, Yoenis Cespedes, Yasiel Puig, and Jose Abreu.  While Japan was once the front runner for international imports, Cuba has now moved to the front of that pack with the uncanny success rate of their players.  Castillo compares to Cespedes with his power and solid speed and is a sure fire sleeper for keeper leagues and for the 2015 season.
