Indianapolis, IN.--Lots of news to get to as I finally sit down after running around the last five hours.  Here is what I got.

-There is "zero chance" the New York Giants will being back WR Hakeem Nicks according to a team source who told me this directly.  In addition the same source told me that James Jones is a guy they are targeting as a replacement.

-The Detroit Lions want to bring back free agent tight end Brandon Pettigrew.

-Texas A@M OT Jake Matthews ran a 5.07 40.  Matthews is a lock to be picked behind Greg Robinson at tackle and likely in the top ten.

-Despite an injury-marred 2013 season, the Atlanta Falcons are talking with Roddy White about extending his deal.  Part of the motivation is to lower White's high 2014 cap number while also seeing to it that he retires as a Falcon.  White is one of owner Arthur Blank's favorites according to a source.

-Michigan OT Taylor Lewan likely secure a top 15 overall grade after running a crazy 4.87 40.  That was even better than the 4.92 that Greg Robinson ran earlier which brought down the Combine house.  The New York Giants love Lewan and will make him their pick according to the same source who talked about Nicks.

-Alabama OT Cyrus Kouandijo has drawn a lot of bad attention  First he benched pressed 225 21 times and ran a horrid 5.53 40 which are two big negatives.  Also there are health questions here which means he is headed for Day 2 status despite insanely long arms.

-Auburn DE Dee Ford is 6-2 and 252.  This kid has moved up rapidly since the end of the season and he can be a fierce pass rusher.  Moving close to first round territory.

-The Giants expect either Jerrel Jernigan or Reuben Randle to be a starting-caliber receiver this season.

-Buffalo LB Khalil Mack came in at 6-2 and 251.  Mike Mayock did the kid big favors earlier in the day by saying he would take Mack over Jadeveon Clowney which is laughable.  Mack is a ferocious pass rusher though who could go in the top five if someone trades up.

-Austin Sefarin-Jenkins sat out almost all on-field work due to a fractured foot.  Jace Amaro will be the first tight end off the board following by Eric Ebron.  The foot issue could drop Jenkins into the late second round area.

-Speaking of Ebron, he ran a 4.50 40 and reminds many of Vernon Davis.

-Free agent pass rusher Michael Johnson looks destined to land with the Minnesota Vikings.
